Blue Christmas Service

The Blue Christmas Service is a service of remembrance and hope. Many people at Christmas time do not feel very merry. Many are mourning the loss of a loved one, a job, of health and vitality, loss of relationships and many other kinds of loss.

The service is offered on the night of the Winter Solstice because this is the shortest day of the year filled with more darkness than light.

We light two candles to represent the loss that can be felt by all of us and then the next candles are lit to remember ourselves and our hope in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the light of the world and he is in our world to help illuminate our path to healing and restoration. The service is offered to everyone in the community.
