Throughout her life, Wright has faced numerous personal and professional challenges. The loss of her first husband when their son was 16 years old reaffirmed the importance of her mother\u2019s best hopes for her daughters\u2019 futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe said we had to be able to support ourselves if we were ever left by ourselves,\u201d Wright said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By herself with her teenage son, she persevered, guided by her steadfast belief that \u201cthis, too, shall pass,\u201d and the cornerstone of her faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Lord brought this man to my church \u2026 came into my life, and he and my son got along so well. The Lord blessed me and took care of me,\u201d Wright shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And when that man, Ted Wright, died, her faith sustained her again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Lord blessed me and took care of me. That was a scary time, but I was taken care of, and it just worked out. I\u2019m a blessed woman.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stories of perseverance through faith in Wright\u2019s life are as countless as the stories she\u2019s read with her classes. Her passion for teaching reading shines through in her work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIf you can read, then books can take you anywhere you want to go,\u201d she explained. Her greatest joy comes from instilling a love of reading in children, especially those who struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the challenges of modern education, including the competition for attention from digital devices, Wright remains committed to her students\u2019 success. \u201cI just love coming to school every day,\u201d she beamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In May, Wright celebrates her 60th year of teaching, and her impact extends far beyond academic achievements. Her classroom connections endure beyond report cards and graduation, weaving a lasting network of former students who carry her lessons through life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Reflecting on her remarkable journey, Wright remains humble and grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI can\u2019t say it enough. I have been blessed too much. I don\u2019t understand why, but there\u2019s a reason, I\u2019m sure. God\u2019s too good to me.
