So what changed? Her son graduated. Life shifted. Tina purchased part of the shop where she had been working. Eventually, she purchased the building in 2019. What began as a garage-based collaboration grew into Ivy Wreath, a storefront rooted in Fayetteville\u2019s historic square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year marks 19 years since Tina has been part of the business. She admits it hasn\u2019t always been easy. One example is the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When doors closed and foot traffic vanished, Tina adapted, making porch deliveries and finding ways to keep flowers moving into homes even when gatherings were paused. Local customers showed up \u2014 ordering arrangements, buying gifts, and choosing to keep their dollars close to home. \u201cLocals kept the business alive,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And alive it is \u2014 in fact, the business is blooming. Inside the shop, hydrangeas, Tina\u2019s personal favorite, often take center stage. Seasonal decor rotates quickly; July 5 marks the unofficial start of fall inside Ivy Wreath. From Valentine\u2019s Day to Halloween \u2014 her favorite holiday \u2014 the floral business plans almost a year in advance, carefully considering trends, traditions, and customer favorites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But even with that forward planning, the heartbeat of the store remains people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tina loves seeing families celebrate milestones \u2014 from birth to graduation to weddings \u2014 and quietly walking alongside them in harder seasons as well. \u201cWe do things behind the scenes,\u201d she said of her desire to serve beyond the sales counter. \u201cI love them so much.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her team reflects that relational focus. Judy is the longest-serving employee. Tina also works alongside her best friend and said she considers everyone who works there family, not employees. When she underwent knee replacement surgery last year and stepped away for a month, her team stepped up and carried the store forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kindness extends well beyond the storefront doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In January, Tina partnered with Fayetteville Main Street for a Valentine\u2019s giveaway that included boutique favorites and two tickets to the community\u2019s Chocolate Walk. From a Nora Fleming reusable bag to a Trapp candle and festive Valentine decor, the bundle encouraged shoppers to buy local and celebrate small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShopping local makes Valentine\u2019s Day even sweeter,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Community support works both ways. Ivy Wreath recently donated a \u201cFlowers for a Year\u201d package to raise funds for Unity School, reinforcing the store\u2019s commitment to local students and families. \u201cSupporting local students and families is at the heart of what we do,\u201d the shop shared on Facebook, \u201cand we\u2019re grateful for the opportunity to make a difference \u2014 one bouquet at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even everyday gifts become opportunities for impact. A simple arrangement paired with a St. Jude mug was described as \u201ca gift of kindness,\u201d reflecting Tina\u2019s belief that flowers bring warmth wherever they land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This year marked a major milestone: for the first time in 18 years, Ivy Wreath was voted the best florist in the area. The store also earned recognition for the best sales associate, awarded to Kathy Hobson \u2014 affectionately known as \u201cMiss Kathy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tina also connects with customers weekly on WYTM radio, sharing updates and keeping Ivy Wreath top of mind in a personal, Online reviews echo what locals already know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOne of my favorite shops! Can always find the best gifts!!\u201d one customer shared. Another wrote, \u201cI love always stopping in your shop when I visit Fayetteville! Unique items!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n That word \u2014 unique \u2014 matters to Tina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI want people to say, \u2018I don\u2019t see a shop like yours anywhere around,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After nearly two decades in the business, through fires on the historic square, pandemic porch deliveries, and personal health challenges, Ivy Wreath continues to thrive because of the community surrounding it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI want to be remembered one day for my store \u2014 not just for the flowers or gifts, but for the kindness it represents,\u201d Tina said.
