Today, Lucas co-manages the family business that his grandfather, Robert Rogers, founded in 1971.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rogers, who passed away in 2016, foresaw this partnership long before Lucas could. He named the company T &amp; L Roofing for his daughter, Theressa Cheeves, and Lucas. For a decade, his life was derailed by drug and alcohol addiction. The turning point came when probation violations forced a choice between jail and Tennessee\u2019s Recovery Courts. The program\u2019s strict accountability sparked a permanent change, paving the way for a deeper journey of family restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now firmly established in management, Lucas works side by side with his mother, Theressa, as a lead estimator handling major projects from start to finish. &#8220;Working with him daily is truly a Godsend,&#8221; Theressa said. &#8220;There are days I teach him, and some days he teaches me.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the office, Lucas&#8217;s six-year milestone is anchored by his wife and children. He has replaced old habits with healthy family bonding, sharing his love for hiking, exploring nature, and gaming with his kids.
