Founded in 1948 by Bob Winton, the business has witnessed generations grow and evolve, actively participating in their journeys. From helping young farmers secure their first plots of land to hosting cherished annual charity auctions, Winton Auction & Realty has consistently embodied trust, good ethics, and a deep-rooted love for its community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bob Winton’s legacy lives on through Bill Anderton, who started at Winton Auction & Realty in 1971. Anderton learned the intricacies of the auction business from the charismatic founder himself, witnessing firsthand the emotional weight of selling family heirlooms and the thrill of unearthing hidden treasures. Anderton’s dedication earned him Winton’s trust, paving the way for his future leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2013, Thomas Ore, a land surveyor who had known Anderton through professional collaborations, entered the picture. Impressed by Winton’s values and legacy, he partnered with Anderton, eventually purchasing the business in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe did a lot of surveying work for Mr. Anderton. And then that’s how I got to know him and got my foot in the door to work with him in the real estate business,\u201d explained Ore.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for both Anderton and Ore, the focus remains not on individual ownership but on preserving the Winton legacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s about Winton Auction & Realty. I want to make it last another 75 years,” Ore said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winton Auction & Realty\u2019s involvement in the community extends beyond the auction block. The business provides valuable educational resources to local farmers, navigating land sales with sensitivity and expertise, and to those seeking to sell their estates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA big share of the work that we do is for estates. We do a lot of work with people who are grieving the loss of loved ones, and they are trying to take care of business and move on with their lives. They have assets that they need to maximize the value of, and we help them with that. The lion\u2019s share of our business is working with attorneys and accountants to help these people maximize their family inheritance,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their community involvement lies in lending a helping hand to organizations around the county. Every year, Anderton fulfills childhood dreams by supporting the Kiwanis Club’s bicycle program. Their generous donations put smiles on countless faces, allowing children in the community to experience the joy of freedom on two wheels.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winton Auction & Realty plays a proactive role in shaping the future of Franklin County. By staying ahead of the curve in technologies like online auctions and drone photography, it offers its clients innovative ways to navigate the ever-changing real estate landscape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
