This month, <strong>Shannon Beebe<\/strong> visited <strong>Shenanigans<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DID YOU know that Shenanigans is the oldest building in Sewanee? Skip the chain sandwich shops and head straight to Shenanigans if you\u2019re in Sewanee \u2014 you\u2019ll thank me later. This colorful little restaurant is pure college-town energy \u2014 bright walls, lively music humming in the background, and a menu stacked with sandwiches, melts, and pizzas that practically demand to be shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/franklin-county\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/3-1-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/franklin-county\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/3-1-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/franklin-county\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/3-1-980x653.png 980w, https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/franklin-county\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/10\/3-1-480x320.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We went for lunch and ordered a spread big enough to feed a dorm: the Reuben, the Club, fried mushrooms, fried zucchini, and their real-cut French fries. The Reuben was everything you want it to be \u2014 gooey, tangy, and toasted on a marble rye bread. The Club came out nice and hearty, toasted on sourdough with fresh layers of classic goodness in every bite. That golden crunch from the bread made it stand out from your typical diner sandwich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fried appetizers deserve their own standing ovation. The mushrooms and zucchini came out hot and crispy, with just the right amount of crunch before you hit that juicy inside. Don\u2019t come here expecting the usual fast-food crunch. These babies are soft, steaming hot, and seasoned so well you don\u2019t even need ketchup \u2014 comfort food at its finest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shenanigans isn\u2019t just about the food, though \u2014 it\u2019s the whole vibe.
