Throughout high school, Holman balanced the demands of competing in multiple sports while remaining focused on academics and long-term goals. Along the way, she became one of Franklin County High School\u2019s standout student-athletes, reaching milestones that reflected years of preparation and persistence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among those accomplishments was reaching the 1,000-point milestone in basketball, an achievement she had dreamed about for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReaching the 1,000 milestone is a big accomplishment for me,\u201d Holman said. \u201cI would always see other people get it and dream that it would be me one day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The moment represented more than statistics. It served as confirmation that years of practice, discipline, and perseverance had paid off. Surrounded by family members cheering from the stands, the milestone became one of the defining memories of her athletic career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOnce I reached it, I was proud of myself because I worked hard to get to that point and to show people that I could do it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another unforgettable achievement came during track season when Holman broke the school record in long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 11 inches. Even now, she remembers the moment vividly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before competing, Holman focused on calming her nerves and staying mentally prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBefore I jumped, I just told myself to breathe and relax and try to win so I could go to state,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When the measurement was announced, the moment hardly felt real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOnce I heard 17\u201911, I couldn\u2019t believe it,\u201d Holman said. \u201cI was really happy after that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The jump secured more than a school record. It reinforced the confidence that preparation and focus could translate into meaningful results when opportunities arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Holman\u2019s athletic journey has also included consistent success on a larger stage. One of the memories she values most is qualifying for the state competition three different years during her high school career, an accomplishment that reflects both talent and consistency across seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Still, Holman said many of her favorite moments have come through shared experiences with teammates, coaches, and loved ones who supported her throughout the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMy coaches have been instrumental in pushing me to improve and guiding my development,\u201d Holman said. \u201cMy teammates have provided incredible support and made the hard work more enjoyable, and created unforgettable memories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She also credits her family for providing encouragement every step of the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMy family has been my rock,\u201d she said. \u201cTheir encouragement and belief in me has been absolutely crucial throughout my athletic journey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Balancing athletics and academics has required discipline and organization. Holman said staying focused begins with setting clear goals and maintaining structure, even during busy seasons filled with practices, games, and travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI make sure to stay organized and set clear goals for myself, both in my sports and in school,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking ahead, Holman is preparing for the next chapter of her athletic career at the University of Tennessee at Martin (UT Martin), where she hopes to continue competing at a high level while growing personally and academically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs I get ready for UT Martin, my goals are to keep improving my skills in basketball and contribute to my team\u2019s success,\u201d Holman said. \u201cOff the court, I want to focus on academics, build strong relationships, and grow as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Holman, success has never been defined by a single moment. Instead, it has come through years of hard work, support from those around her, and a steady determination to pursue goals that once felt like dreams. From the basketball court to the track, she leaves Franklin County with accomplishments to celebrate and a future still unfolding.
