<\/figure>\n\n\n\n\u201cGod gave me an idea to have a small business,\u201d Lisa said, \u201cbut it was to impress on\u00a0people\u2019s hearts how much He loves them.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And impress she did \u2014 starting with a warm batch of cookies, and now, a growing legacy. From day one, Lisa saw each batch of cookies as a small but powerful way to spread joy and faith. Her deep religious convictions inspired her to create a business grounded in her beliefs, even before she realized she was building one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe just kept baking,\u201d Lisa shared. \u201cFor every batch, we prayed that God would use this simple thing \u2014 a cookie \u2014 to reach people in ways we couldn\u2019t on our own.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lisa started experimenting with recipes, carefully crafting each one to bring something unique. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEach cookie had to feel special,\u201d she explained. \u201cLike it was meant just for that person.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether it was the creamy richness of the lemon pie cookie or the sweet and tart taste of the caramel apple cookie, she poured her love and faith into every detail. The cookies were a hit, and soon, her small\u00a0act of kindness started to catch on. Friends and family encouraged Lisa to think bigger, and with a gentle push, she decided to step out of her comfort zone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t easy,\u201d Lisa admitted. \u201cI thought, \u2018Who am I to start a business?\u2019 But I felt God saying, \u2018Now, take this to the public.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the name \u201cFaithful Cookie Co.\u201d clear in her heart, Lisa set out to create a business that could serve her community while honoring her faith. Faithful, she explained, represents three things: \u201cFaithful first to the Lord, faithful to the first responders and the medical community, and faithful to others.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Her cookies soon became available for order online, as well as at local markets and select stores in the area. Farmers markets, community fairs, and even church events opened doors to share her mission more widely. Today, Faithful Cookie Co. is growing, and proceeds from every sale go back into serving cancer patients, providing them with small comforts like gas and grocery cards to help ease the burden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Earlier this year, Lisa entered her lemon pie cookie \u2014 a personal favorite of hers and many \u2014 into the Taste of Donelson competition, a local culinary event featuring dozens of restaurants and food artisans. It was a leap of faith, but one that paid off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe it when they announced we\u2019d won,\u201d Lisa says. \u201cIt was a judge\u2019s favorite. She said it had the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Lisa remembers the moment vividly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe judge was a professional pastry chef, so to have her say that my cookie was outstanding \u2014 it was just surreal,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI said, \u2018This lemon cookie has always been my favorite, and to have someone else feel the same way? That felt like validation for all the love we put into this.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Winning the competition was a high point for Faithful Cookie Co., but Lisa remained humble, seeing it as another chance to shine a light on her true mission.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is the Lord\u2019s award, really,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re just executing through some of this stuff for Him, and every little bit of recognition is a way to share our faith and our purpose.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n As Faithful Cookie Co. officially took off last fall, Lisa found herself juggling more responsibilities. She knew she would be baking for more than her own hospital staff. That\u2019s when Debbie, a friend from Bible study, offered to help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI love to bake, and I felt like the Lord was telling me, \u2018You could help Lisa,\u2019\u201d Debbie shared with a smile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n She quickly became Lisa\u2019s right hand, and the two developed a rhythm, baking together several days a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Debbie laughed as she described her introduction to Faithful Cookie Co.: \u201cI told Lisa, \u2018If you ever need help baking, I\u2019d love to help,\u2019 and she took me up on it right away!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Since then, Debbie has been an integral part of the business, sharing in both the baking and the mission. Lisa is grateful for Debbie\u2019s support, acknowledging that Faithful Cookie Co. has become a shared journey of faith and friendship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019ve become closer than friends,\u201d Lisa said, smiling. \u201cWe\u2019re a team \u2014 working together, praying together, baking together. It\u2019s humbling to have someone by your side who believes in the mission as much as you do.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n True to its mission, Faithful Cookie Co. gives back every chance it gets. For Lisa and Debbie, the business isn\u2019t just about making sales \u2014 it\u2019s about supporting cancer patients in tangible ways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019re not in this for the money,\u201d Lisa explained. \u201cIf we could make a small profit for our future, that would be wonderful. But for now, our focus is on giving back, and that\u2019s what keeps us going.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n The work is demanding, but Lisa and Debbie find energy in their purpose. Every\u00a0week, they bake, package, and pray over hundreds of cookies, trusting that each one will find its way to someone who needs a reminder of love and faith. Each cookie comes packaged with a Bible verse chosen each week by Lisa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking ahead, Lisa envisions expanding Faithful Cookie Co. to reach even more people while staying grounded in its mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019re constantly praying, daily, \u2018God, this is your business. Show us what you want us to do,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cWe believe every cookie is an opportunity to show God\u2019s love.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Lisa and Debbie, Faithful Cookie Co. is far more than a bakery \u2014 it\u2019s a ministry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis business isn\u2019t about us,\u201d Lisa said. \u201cIt\u2019s about faith. Faithful to the Lord, faithful to each other, and faithful to everyone we meet.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n As Faithful Cookie Co. continues to grow, Lisa remains dedicated to spreading hope, one cookie at a time.
