Music City Bricks has become a modern-day village square \u2014 a rare space in our disconnected world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kids come here after school to build. Parents linger and chat over the sounds of clicking bricks and imaginative storytelling. People who might feel like they\u2019re on the outskirts \u2014 children, adults, new-to-town families \u2014 find belonging here. And that\u2019s no accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur community has lost some of that with big box stores,\u201d said Stosh. \u201cYou go in there and never see a single person you know. It\u2019s created a lot of isolation in our society, and we wanted something that could break that down, bring our community together, and provide a common thing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI grew up with five sisters and a single mom for a while. She showed me you can do anything \u2014 you just have to teach yourself how.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, his adopted father modeled the importance of self-reliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe taught me how to move a refrigerator by myself,\u201d he laughed. \u201cBut more than that, he showed me that no one will work as hard for you as you will work for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The family holds this lesson close: If you want something to exist in the world \u2014 a Lego community, a safe space, a dream \u2014 you might have to build it yourself, brick by brick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Running a small, family-run business isn\u2019t al- ways shiny and photogenic. Behind the colorful shelves and kids laughing over \u201cStar Wars\u201d builds, there have been nights when the future felt shaky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIf these walls could talk,\u201d Stosh said, \u201cHow we stuck together even when it is hard and when you feel like each month might be the last in the business, and then God provides, and your community rallies behind you. How we act when hard things define and expose [us reveals] our true character.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n He thought back to a saying from their mother: Suffering builds character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019d always respond, \u2018We have enough character, Mom.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yet, that character and solidity keep the doors open and the lights on. That character has become the foundation of everything they\u2019re building, and with it comes memories that last a lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ask the family what they hope people remember years from now, and the answer isn\u2019t profits or popularity. It\u2019s joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe hope they remember all the fun they had, the friends they made, and how they were treated while they were here,\u201d said Stosh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And for every child who finds a version of themselves here \u2014 whether sorting parts with Annmarie or getting a tour from Stosh \u2014 there\u2019s a sense that they are part of something bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They are part of a story, a family, and a place where creativity is currency and everyone belongs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Music City Bricks is a place to breathe. It\u2019s where kids who\u2019ve been told to sit still their whole lives are told to build loud, dream big, and take up space. It\u2019s where families connect across tables of scattered bricks, creating something \u2014 anything \u2014 together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s where people who feel like they\u2019re on an island discover they\u2019re not alone, reminding them that joy still matters, imagination still heals, and no one has to build their life alone.
