A COMPANY BUILT ON SERVICE Olson, who joined the company in 2020 to help manage tornado recovery projects, has since risen through the ranks to become the general manager. A U.S. Army veteran himself, he brings a deep personal connection to the company\u2019s community-driven mission. \u201cTim has always cared about giving back,\u201d Olson said. \u201cHe\u2019s been involved with Rotary, helped build ball fields, supported schools \u2014 our roots in the community run deep.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n GIVING BACK THROUGH ROOFING \u201cOur goal was always to do two veteran roofs a year and then one for a first responder and one for a community servant,\u201d Olson said. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t always happen because these projects can be big, but we do as many as we can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recipients are typically nominated by community members or identified through local partnerships. To ensure fairness, the company collaborates closely with organizations such as Purple Heart Homes \u2014 a nonprofit that provides housing solutions and critical repairs for service-connected disabled veterans \u2014 and the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, which donates roofing materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPurple Heart Homes helps \u2014 they pay for all the material,\u201d Olson explained. \u201cThen we come in and provide all the labor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The result is a collaborative effort that brings together nonprofits, manufacturers, and skilled roofers, all united by a single purpose: to take care of those who\u2019ve served their country or community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n BEYOND THE ROOF \u201cThey realize someone saw their need and stepped in,\u201d Olson said. \u201cAnd the weight of that \u2014 the financial pressure, the worry about leaks or damage \u2014 it just lifts. We still give them a 20-year warranty, so they don\u2019t have to worry about it again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n That peace of mind, he said, often leads to something deeper. \u201cI\u2019ve seen grown men just break down. It\u2019s healing, in a way. You can see it in their faces.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n A MISSION THAT KEEPS GROWING On Oct. 1, Olson and his team began work on the roof of a custom-built home for retired U.S. Army Capt. Leslie Nicole Smith in Williamson County. Smith, who lost her leg and partial eyesight after serving overseas, will receive a mortgage-free home through the foundation\u2019s Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment (R.I.S.E.) program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019re partnering with the Gary Sinise Foundation to do the roof on Capt. Smith\u2019s home,\u201d Olson said. \u201cIt\u2019s the biggest and most complex project we\u2019ve ever done, and we couldn\u2019t be more honored to be part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Olson, who spent weeks coordinating with architects and builders to ensure every detail was right, the project is a culmination of the company\u2019s ethos in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis one\u2019s special,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a big roof, but it\u2019s an even bigger opportunity to bless someone who\u2019s given so much.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n A TEAM EFFORT WITH HEART \u201cIt\u2019s not just us doing this work,\u201d Olson emphasized. \u201cIt\u2019s a team of people who want to leverage what they have to make a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Locally, the company also stays involved with organizations like the Rotary Club of Lebanon, sponsors community events, and supports schools with supplies and small facility projects. The roofing work is simply an extension of that same heart for service \u2014 one that starts with the leadership of owner Tim Leeper and continues through every member of the crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ROOTED IN COMMUNITY, BUILT ON FAITH \u201cWe don\u2019t want to just take from the community,\u201d he said. \u201cWe want to be part of it.
