To say they were not very enthusiastic would be putting it mildly, but my children have learned over the years that old mom has got to have her \u201cadventures,\u201d and they might as well go along for the ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through social media, I learned that a local business, Good Karma Cafe, hosted Bingo. They promoted the event as a great way to meet new people and enjoy community. A lover of all things community, I was immediately interested and decided it would be a fun way to enjoy a night out with my daughters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"961\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/manchester\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/07\/Screen-Shot-2023-07-14-at-12.27.52-PM-961x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18656\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photography by Kali Bradford.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the ages of 16 and 12, there are not many activities to participate in, at least not many that don\u2019t garner side-glance and exasperated \u201cI guess\u201d when I ask them to go with me. But, more often<br>than not, once we get there and the festivities begin, there is a thawing of the chilly attitude and even a smile, letting me know that they are actually enjoying it. To further brighten their moods about going, I invited our family friend, Sam, whom my girls adore. So if Sam was going, so were they.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had called to reserve a table in advance, which they recommended doing. Honestly, I thought finding a seat wouldn\u2019t be a problem. I was wrong. The cafe was packed with folks of all ages excitedly waiting to play. Along with Bingo, the cafe also offered supper, which included a heaping plate of baked spaghetti and bread for $11 that all four of us ate with gusto. There was also chocolate, and patrons were welcome to order off the menu that offers fresh and tasty teas, coffee, protein shakes, and more. The cafe also offers fresh baked goods that will satisfy any sweet tooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"921\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/manchester\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/07\/Screen-Shot-2023-07-14-at-12.28.28-PM-921x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18657\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photography by Kali Bradford.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The event took place from 5 to 7 p.m., during which time we played a handful of rounds of Bingo. Each game offered a prize from a local business. And it\u2019s important to note that the two eye-rolling teens suddenly became most interested and invested in taking home one of those prizes. While we didn\u2019t win anything, we laughed until our bellies hurt and left with our hearts and bellies filled, which was the only prize needed for this mom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was, just as they had advertised, a great way to meet and mingle with others in the community. In today\u2019s busy world, I think it is sorely needed. I offer a heartfelt round of kudos to the local business for hosting the event.
