Gates opened two hours before the noon matinee began for the pre-show pit party and meet-and-greet on the arena floor for VIP ticket holders. A second show kicked off at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sergeant Smash \u2014 a souped-up Hummer that weighs over 13,000 pounds \u2014 drove eager fans around the arena while the seven-time champion Outlaw, followed by Shark Attack, T-Rex, and The Sheriff from Tombstone, Arizona, prepared to face off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/shelbyville\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/12\/2-4-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24468\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/shelbyville\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/12\/2-4-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/shelbyville\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/12\/2-4-980x653.jpg 980w, https:\/\/goodnewsmags.com\/shelbyville\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2025\/12\/2-4-480x320.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photography by Ashleigh Newnes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Shark Attack \u2014 driven by the only female to compete \u2014 was a fan favorite with its jagged teeth and red, beady eyes. As the 2023 champ, Shark Attack weighs an ominous 10,000 pounds and tucks 1,700 horsepower under its light green hood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone held their breath as The Sheriff, sporting the classic body of a 1949 Ford Mercury, raced full speed across the arena floor and plunged hood-first into the dirt while the T-Rex spun in circles nearby. During the second half of intermission, children ages 3 to 9 snapped on their bicycle helmets and raced their very own Power Wheels around the ring.
