FOR DR. RYAN Moore, healing has always been about motion — helping people move the way they’re meant to. As a chiropractor at Cumberland Chiropractic and Sports Medicine in Lebanon, he’s spent nearly a decade keeping patients on their feet, whether they’re competitive runners, weekend joggers, or parents chasing after toddlers.
FROM THE SKIES TO THE SPINE
Moore grew up in Manchester, in a close-knit family of six. His father is a pilot, and his children grew up knowing that precision, focus, and care mattered — whether in the air or in the medical field. Three of the four Moore siblings ultimately went into health care; the youngest is now entering the technology field.
During high school, Moore thought he might follow in his father’s footsteps. But an unexpected football injury changed that course. After a hit left him with tingling in his neck and arms, his parents took him to a chiropractor. The relief was immediate, and the experience left a lasting impression. For the first time, he saw how carefully targeted, hands-on care could change someone’s quality of life in a single visit. The encounter planted a seed that would later become a calling.

FINDING HIS FIT IN CHIROPRACTIC MEDICINE
Moore went on to study biology at the University of Tennessee at Martin before earning his doctorate in chiropractic medicine at Logan University in St. Louis. He completed his senior residency at Cumberland Chiropractic and never left. Since 2016, he has been part of the practice full time, helping patients relieve pain, restore mobility, and prevent injuries through chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy, and rehabilitative exercises.
He also brings advanced training in sports medicine, nutrition, and soft-tissue techniques — skills that reflect both scientific rigor and a natural curiosity about how the body works.
A RUNNER’S PERSPECTIVE
Running remains one of Moore’s great passions. After trading football for track in high school, he found joy in the steady rhythm of running, and that experience now shapes his practice. Runners, he explains, are particularly prone to injuries because of the sport’s repetitive impact. The repetitive motion can sometimes cause injuries or pain to the spine, hips, knees, or feet.
Chiropractic care, he found, can make an enormous difference. By aligning the spine and relieving pressure on irritated nerves, adjustments can reduce pain, restore balance, and even prevent future injuries. It’s not uncommon for his patients to see improvements in both performance and recovery time.
At Cumberland Chiropractic, treatment is rarely one-dimensional. Adjustments are often paired with massage therapy, stretching, or targeted exercise plans to keep the body aligned and reduce areas of tension or weakness. The result is a holistic approach that not only treats pain but helps prevent it.

TEACHING BALANCE
Moore’s patients come from all walks of life — athletes, office workers, and retirees — but he particularly enjoys working with runners and those with lower-extremity issues such as plantar fasciitis, knee pain, and hip pain. His familiarity with those challenges gives him a unique perspective and helps him build trust with his patients.
What sets Moore apart is his attention to detail and his emphasis on education. He often takes time to explain how small shifts in posture can create a chain reaction through the body, or how strengthening specific muscles can relieve pressure elsewhere. His goal is not only to heal but to teach — giving patients the knowledge to maintain their own health long after they leave his office.
Nutrition, he believes, plays a vital role in that process. Moore emphasized that optimal health depends on balance across diet, exercise, and recovery.
ROOTED IN TENNESSEE
Outside the clinic, Moore and his wife, Amanda, live the wellness they encourage in others. Amanda works in medical research, focusing on studies that advance cancer treatment breakthroughs. Together, they spend their free time backpacking, biking, skiing, and hiking, indulging in the beautiful nature for which Tennessee is famed.

Their decision to live in Lebanon is as intentional as their approach to health. The city sits a reasonable distance from both Ryan’s family in Manchester and Amanda’s in Memphis — a way to stay in touch with their roots both geographically and emotionally. They see it as the place where their future will unfold.
MOVING FORWARD
Looking ahead, Moore hopes to continue growing with the community that welcomed him early in his career. He sees Lebanon as a place full of people who value connection, family, and care — all things that align closely with his own values. In the next few years, he and Amanda hope to expand their family while maintaining the deep roots they’ve built in Tennessee.
Moore’s work, like his life, is built on motion — steady, forward, and full of purpose. His patients may come to him for relief from pain, but they often leave with something more: an understanding of how strength, alignment, and balance work together to maintain the body’s harmony.
For Moore, that’s the real reward of chiropractic medicine. Healing, like running, is about finding rhythm again after being knocked off balance and taking that next step, pain-free. GN
