GOOD NEWS IS COMING TO DINNER! We will feature a local food critic’s thoughts as they dine in Lebanon. This month, Krys Midgett visited Wingman.
WINGMAN KNOWS how to turn up the heat in Lebanon. It’s a small, no-frills spot on the old side of town (West Main Street, for the newbies) that opened its doors in June of this year and has been spicing things up ever since.
The vibe is relaxed and friendly. We grabbed seats at the small bar, but on a nice day, you can enjoy the outdoor tables and benches with umbrellas. They also have a few tables inside. It’s exactly the kind of place where you can pop in for a quick bite, take home an order, or enjoy a meal with a friend.

If you can’t handle the heat, they do have other options in the kitchen. They specialize in wings, fish, chicken, and burgers. My husband ordered the hot wings and fries, and he was thrilled. The wings had the perfect kick: spicy and flavorful, without being hot for the sake of heat. He also liked the fries; they were seasoned just right. I cannot handle the heat, so I went with the tilapia and shrimp, paired with mac and cheese. The seafood was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and perfectly seasoned, while the mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and comforting. I am picky when it comes to my mac and cheese, so that was a hit.
The staff were friendly, the wait was minimal, and it was a great experience overall. Wingman may be small and unassuming, but when it comes to flavor and heat, it’s a real hero in Lebanon. GN
