METRO SERVICES is a workforce Management company and a catalyst for transformation. The founders started the organization believing that every individual possesses untapped potential. Cody Amis, Paula McCorkle, and the rest of the team have dedicated their careers to helping people discover their purpose through work. Metro Services is redefining the industry by bridging gaps, promoting growth, and creating opportunities for job seekers and clients. The team has a keen eye for individual aspirations and a knack for matching talent with opportunity. Together, they have built a company that’s as much about personal growth as it is about business success.
In 2008, the founder started the organization believing that every individual possesses untapped potential. Today, Tanya Amis serves as the executive vice president, and she, along with the company’s team of directors — Cody Amis, director of HR; Paula McCorkle, director of staffing; and Marcie Layne, director of operations — now carry the torch.
Metro Services is set apart from staffing industry leaders because of its innovative and personalized staffing techniques.
“We like to get to know the person. We like to ask them about their history, their achievements, and their skill sets and tell us a story so that we can take the jobs that we have available and start to find the right job for them,” said Amis.
McCorkle pointed out the importance of bridging gaps to help clients and employees thrive in their field.
“We want our employees to succeed, and we also want our clients to succeed. I love that we have the ability to be that solution and make it happen quickly,” she said.
Their thorough staffing process includes coaching and supporting employees even after they’ve secured a job, culminating in long-term success.
Amis’ career with Metro Services began a decade ago. While completing his college education, he started with basic accounting and recruitment tasks, and his passion for human resources quickly developed.
McCorkle’s path mirrors Amis’. Having been with Metro for 10 years, she started as a branch manager and now oversees eight local staffing offices as director of staffing.
“I love helping people, and I love this company so much,” she said.
Cari Eggleston is a newer member who, as the organization’s marketing specialist, brings a fresh perspective to the job.
“My background is in marketing. Working for Metro is like God’s plan. I love working here, and I love seeing how passionate everyone is about the community and serving the people that we serve,” she explained.
Metro aims to revolutionize the staffing experience for both job seekers and clients by leveraging technology and creative solutions.
One of Metro’s unique aspects is its travel positions, which address geographic and social challenges. These positions provide people in small towns with the chance to explore the world and work at various job sites.
The program has been extremely successful because of its ability to impact employees positively. It’s a unique experience that not only provides employment opportunities but also enriches the lives of workers through travel and new experiences.
Metro Services is structured into several divisions, each catering to different needs. The local staffing division handles production work, while the 3PL (third-party logistics) division handles travel jobs. The 3PQi division provides quality inspection services, ensuring that clients receive high-quality products without risking costly recalls.
McCorkle discussed Metro’s organic growth strategy, which involves expanding in response to client needs.
“We organically grow with our customers’ needs. We can get on the ground quickly, find a brick-and-mortar location, get recruiters, and do all the things to be able to staff. We grow with our clients, and we’ll go wherever we need to go to supply for a client.”
The COVID-19 pandemic challenged conventional methods of communication and interaction, urging Metro Services to adapt and innovate.
“COVID made everybody go indoors. We lost a lot of face-to-face communication. So we’re trying to get back to that and love on people, to create an uncommon experience,” Amis shared.
Their flexibility and responsiveness have enabled them to explore new industries, including food, travel nursing, and event staffing.
At the core of Metro Services is the ability to revolutionize staffing and spread the love of Jesus compassionately.
“We want to do something new and unique in the industry,” Amis said. “We want to be the hands and feet of the Lord and love people the way they should be loved.”
Metro Services is a transformative force in the staffing industry. The organization will continue to grow and maintain its innovative service with a team of compassionate and knowledgeable staff at its core. Metro Services represents what it means to combine business sense with a heart for people. GN
