Situated on the corner of Lincoln and Jackson Street rests our community’s greatest asset. The Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) functions as a liaison between local businesses and the greater Tullahoma community. TACC is a non-profit organization working towards building a world-class community. Striving for advancement, pursuing economic development, and providing opportunities and resources for its members are some of the chamber’s primary roles. TACC makes every attempt to showcase Tullahoma and improve the quality of life within the community. The organization’s formal mission statement is: “The mission of the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce is to identify and represent the interests and advancement of its members and to promote a vision of economic growth while showcasing the area as a desirable place to live, work, and visit.”
TACC’s all-woman staff is led by Executive Director Hope Nunley. Nunley grew up in Coffee County and has deep roots within the community. She has a natural knack for connecting and bringing people together. Nunley has served as the executive director since 2017. She shares, “I enjoy seeing our members grow, connect, and thrive. We get to celebrate with businesses at their ribbon cuttings, introduce them to the community at networking events, and award them for their hard work and dedication to Tullahoma throughout the year. I love what I do and consider it an honor to serve the Tullahoma community.” Long before she became the executive director, Nunley served as a volunteer ambassador.
Membership Director Tisha Fritz was also an ambassador for many years before joining the full-time staff. Fritz, too, was raised in this community and held such love for
Tullahoma. Shortly after graduating college, her passion for Tullahoma, and life’s circumstances brought her back to town. “For me, it’s the community I was raised in that has provided the safe, supportive, and kind community that I desire for my own family. Over the years, the people in our community have proven what care for others and kindness can do in the place we call home.” Fritz has had the privilege of working at the chamber for the last few years and anticipates many more to come.
The newest member of the team is Lillian Thompson. Thompson began working as an intern and was recently hired as the marketing and communications coordinator. Nunley and Fritz are confident she will be the perfect addition to their team.
Thompson joined the team as the TACC staff held their Centennial Membership Celebration event on February 4. First Bank and Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital sponsored the annual event. Celebrating 100 years of connection and growth made this year’s event incredibly special. In addition to remembering the former years, the celebration was a time to pause and welcome 2022 and all it holds! Fritz shared about the energy and joy that filled the room. “The room was alive with people feeling so good about being together and celebrating individuals and businesses who are truly worthy of praise.” Following a cocktail hour and dinner, each year at the membership celebration, there are awards given out to individuals and businesses alike.
