Dr. Tyler Edge: Unlocking wellness, restoring hope

by | Jan 2026

DR. TYLER Edge, founder of Elk River Chiropractic, blends clinical precision with strong faith and a caring approach to patient care. For Edge, true healing comes from unlocking the body’s ability to heal itself. Growing up in the countryside of Northern Jacksonville, Florida, Edge’s childhood was a mixture of Sunday sermons, dirt roads, and endless adventure.

“I grew up playing baseball, riding four-wheelers, catching bugs, and fishing in ponds near my house,” he said with a laugh.

Raised by two hardworking parents who gave all they could, Edge carried fundamental life lessons and natural curiosity to Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. While earning his bachelor’s degree in integrative health science, everything fell into place when he met Dr. John Gaffney, a seasoned chiropractor in his 70s.

“Watching his kindness, intelligence, and servant’s heart drew me to chiropractic,” Edge said. “He was almost solely responsible for me choosing to devote my life to the service of patients through the healing art of chiropractic care.”

Three weeks after graduation, Edge enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Daytona Beach, where the years that followed sharpened his skills and clarified his calling: to treat every patient with excellence, integrity, and love. At Elk River Chiropractic, each patient’s experience begins with conversation. “We start by talking — understanding when the problem began, what caused it, and how it’s affecting their life,” Edge explained. From there, he and his team perform exams and X-rays as needed, developing a plan that focuses on healing the root cause rather than just managing symptoms.

“Facts help to overcome fear,” he said. “Results always speak for themselves.” Edge emphasized that chiropractic care is about balance in the body. “When we adjust the spine, we help restore balance to the nervous system,” he said.

“In today’s high-stress society, people are stuck in constant overdrive. Chiropractic helps the body relax, heal, and function the way God intended.”

“At my office, the goal for myself and my staff is to love and treat every patient as Jesus would,” Edge said. “Service that goes above and beyond. Kindness that can’t be beaten. Honesty, integrity, and a personal demand for excellence in every spinal treatment. We strive to be spine-centered and health-focused. Receptionists Tandie and Maghan greet each patient with kindness and servant leadership, ensuring that Dr. Brewer and I can do our job of creating an optimal patient experience.” Edge credits his wife and business partner, Ashley, as the “glue” that holds everything together.

“Without Ashley, Elk River Chiropractic wouldn’t be what it is, and I wouldn’t be what I am,” he said. “She’s one of the hardest-working, kindest, and most giving people I know.”

Together, they balance raising three children with serving the community through church, Kiwanis, and local outreach. Each year, the practice hosts Patient Appreciation Week.

“It’s our way of giving back — helping our patients while blessing our community,” Tyler said.

For Tyler the power of chiropractic lies in its ability to restore lives. He’s witnessed babies less than a year old rest well after adjustments. And a great-grandfather whose spine was fused in six segments experienced relief and was finally able to sit comfortably through his grandson’s baseball games.

“Feeling good is a bad way to judge how healthy you are,” he said. “You may not have a toothache, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t decay. The same goes for your spine — the problem often exists long before you feel it in your body.”

“While every spine is similar in general structure, each is unique to a person’s genetics, injuries, and life experiences,” Tyler explained. Over the years, he’s treated people with severe spinal arthritis, postsurgical pain, and those who were told they’d “just have to live with it.”

“Many come in at the end of their rope,” he said. “But once we take a full history, review their X-rays and talk through their story, they’re often surprised to hear, ‘I think this problem is something chiropractic can help.’”

He’s seen countless “hopeless” cases — from chronic pain masked by medication to trauma-related stiffness — regain movement, avoid surgery, and rediscover the simple joy of living without pain. For Tyler, healing Fayetteville means redefining what health really is.

“Society has taught us that health is how we feel,” he said. “But true healing starts with addressing the cause — not covering up symptoms. Chiropractic looks deeper to find the root and correct it.”

“I’m blessed beyond measure to use the gifts God has given me every day to help others,” Tyler said. “When I see someone walk out of this office with hope again, that’s when I know we’re doing what we’re called to do.” GN
