H A Beasley & Company: The right fit

by | May 2025

WHEN SHE was a little girl, Katybeth Beasley Bobo wiggled her toes inside her father’s dress shoes and admiringly gazed up at him. Though H A Beasley’s shoes would always be much too large for her to wear, following in his footsteps would prove to be just the right fit.

After earning a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Memphis and graduating summa cum laude, H A Beasley became a certified public accountant (CPA). In the early 1990s, he opened H A Beasley & Company, PLLC CPAs, which specializes in:
• Bookkeeping, write-up, and bill pay

• QuickBooks training and help

• Full-service payroll

• Local business tax and sales tax

• Accounting and financial statements

• Review and compilation of financial statements

• Contractor’s licenses

• Income taxes

• Estate, gift, and trust taxes

• Tax planning and consulting

• Management and business consulting

• Business plans

• Multistate taxation

In 2015, Beasley acquired Throneberry & Associates in Shelbyville. This opportunity was perfect since Beasley’s daughter, Katybeth Beasley Bobo, had married into the Bedford County community in 2003 and had joined the family business. This father-daughter team brought a unique dynamic to the firm. Their shared values and commitment to their clients created a solid foundation for their growing business at 109 E. Holland St. Beasley Bobo’s fresh perspective and dedication to the community complemented her father’s experience and wisdom, making them an unstoppable duo.

The growth didn’t stop there. In 2016, Beasley acquired the Shelbyville branch of the Housholder Artman accounting firm based in Tullahoma, further expanding their local client base. Dean Blount, a CPA, reached out to Beasley in 2018, looking for a small, family-oriented firm to collaborate with. Recognizing they shared similar values, Beasley and Beasley Bobo welcomed Blount, and today the Shelbyville location has grown to include 10 dedicated employees. Blount credits the firm’s success to the values and principles upon which the firm was founded and they continue to follow.

“We are blessed to work with such a remarkable staff and are grateful for the opportunity to serve the wonderful people of Bedford County,” said Blount.

The Murfreesboro location continues to thrive with over 25 year-round employees, and they added a small third location in 2017 on County Line Road, on the Bedford/Rutherford county line.

“The inspiration for the firm and its continued growth has been simply a God-honoring means to support H A Beasley’s family and now his descendants — along with the good people who have worked alongside us and their families. We believe our services are unique because we seek to achieve exceptional results guided by the principles of Jesus. We aim to value every individual, serve responsibly, and to act with humility,” said Beasley Bobo.

H A Beasley & Company mainly serves individuals seeking professional tax help and small businesses needing bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services. The company also works with several nonprofits, showing ongoing dedication to continue making positive impacts within our community.

Over the past decade, the firm has witnessed the remarkable growth of Bedford County, and hundreds of satisfied customers have spread the word, causing their business to expand as well. The story of Beasley, his daughter, and others from the Beasley family working together as a team in both Murfreesboro and Shelbyville captures the essence of a family-oriented, community-driven business. With roots firmly planted in Bedford and Rutherford County, they aim to grow alongside the community while staying true to the original mission of Beasley and the principles he’s displayed for the last five decades.
