NESTLED AT at the edge of a tiny shopping strip is Revaira, hands down the finest dining restaurant Shelbyville has ever had. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. Inside are dishes once only obtainable in bigger cities like Nashville or Murfreesboro, prepared by a master chef.
I could smell beautiful scents from the parking lot, which became much more robust as I opened the front door to the lowly lit dining room. With a full kitchen view, I grabbed a seat and ordered my grilled octopus appetizer. Admittedly, it’s a dish that’s not for everyone, but one I love. The octopus was charred to perfection, which offered a great contrast to the succulent and tender meat, all in a sauce packed with garlic and butter flavor.
My entree was the seared salmon with breaded crust in a beurre blanc sauce and mashed potatoes. The plating was next level, and the salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. I watched the chef use a thermometer to check the temperature of the proteins he was cooking. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. I could truly taste the love and attention to detail in every bite.
I never expected Shelbyville to welcome such an extravagant restaurant, but I sure am glad that we are growing to these new heights. Whether it’s a special occasion or just any day of the week, Revaira is here to offer the finest dining experience in Shelbyville. So come try something new — maybe grilled octopus or a ribeye steak with delicious risotto. Their doors are open, and they welcome anyone who loves outstanding food. GN
