WOMEN’S RECOVERY program Miriam’s House recently held a garden gala on March 28, bringing together supporters and community members to highlight the organization’s work and its impact on women in recovery. It was held at the program’s new home, at 206 College St. in Normandy.
Themed “Living in Full Bloom,” the event offered guests a chance to learn more about the residential faith‑based program based in Manchester.

The evening featured food and fellowship along with opportunities for attendees to speak directly with staff and volunteers. Organizers shared updates on the program’s continued growth and emphasized the need for community involvement to sustain its mission. They noted the gala was designed to focus on the work being done rather than formal presentations.
Miriam’s House serves women from across Coffee County, providing structure, accountability, and a safe environment for long‑term recovery.

According to Miriam House Director Tasha Hill, the Christ-centered, residential, faith-based rehabilitation program is based in Coffee County and serves women across the country.
“We bring in women who struggle with life-controlling issues — not only addiction but [also] abuse and broken situations. We allow anyone truly ready for a second chance to come into our program,” she said.

Hill said the program takes anywhere from 12 to 18 months to complete, depending on the student. While in the program, students participate in various activities, including Biblical education, spiritual counseling, work projects, ministry outreach to the local community, and a number of community service projects.
“The whole process is beautiful,” said Hill. “At Miriam House, we see women transform from death to life. Their countenance even begins to change from week to week. We focus on wholesomeness and being whole. We see transformation by introducing them to Jesus and letting the Holy Spirit do his work. We also focus on discipleship and coupling cognitive behavior therapy with the word of God.” GN
