ALL I want for Christmas iiiiiiis… yoooooOOooooOOoouuuUUUuuu,” Can you hear it already? It’s that time of year once again. And I know there is a crowd of people who agree with the Grinch and would rather not cheer with decorative reds and greens or Mariah Carey belting in the background with whistle tones— especially if it’s before Thanksgiving. If you’re with the Grinch on the top of Mount Crumpit in Whoville, take a moment to hear me out. This time of year the Good News might be wrapped in snow and sparkling lights, but it’s still Good News!
On the other side of the coin, there are people who do not have a great time during the holiday season. There are people who are having their first Christmas morning without a family member around the table this year. They may hate Christmas, and they have a good reason. It might remind them of things they want to forget. They may have a little less joy this year. That’s why it’s up to us to share Good News. To be by their side. To encourage them to come out and enjoy time with people they love. To smile and give a hug at the Christmas party.
The theme for the December issue of Good News Shelbyville is Joy To The World. And I ask that you take it to heart. I want you to forget all the things that make you feel like the Grinch, slide down the snowy Mount Crumpit, and join in the loving air.
From your editor, Good News Magazine, and Exchange Media Group,we wish you a Merry Christmas. We hope you have a joyful conclusion to your year, and we hope you help us spread joy to the world.
