THROUGH THE years, we’ve seen this location change many times. But La Fiesta Grande is quickly becoming the most popular selection so far. Walking through these familiar doors, I was promptly greeted by a friendly face and offered my own choice of seating. While sitting at the window for a good view, the folks behind us had their fajitas delivered simultaneously. Steaming and sizzling so loudly, the entire restaurant could hear and smell the delicious meal they were about to have.
As tempting as it was, I didn’t order the fajitas but opted for a chicken burrito with cheese sauce. It quickly arrived, and words cannot explain just how large this burrito was. With a steak knife sticking out of it as cheese sauce dripped off the sides, I took my first cut. The smell of fajita vegetables inside with rice and chicken was outstanding, the pinnacle of Mexican cuisine. There should be a challenge to eat an entire burrito in one sitting. Needless to say, I didn’t finish the burrito and had at least half left over to take home with me for later.
From the familiar ambiance, the chips with freshly made salsa, or the gargantuan-sized dishes, you’ll love La Fiesta Grande just as much as I did. Seeing a successful restaurant finally returning to this location is so refreshing. So, let’s come together, as Shelbyville does, and help make our new friends successful. You’re sure to be satisfied with their daily specials and expansive menu. Come hungry, leave stuffed, and make room in the fridge for some leftovers. Also, follow along on Facebook to see their daily specials and mouthwatering dishes. GN
