After more than 40 years of guiding local families and business owners through their financial journeys, veteran banker Mike Rittenberry is stepping into a part-time role as Bedford County Executive. Rather than saying a full goodbye, Rittenberry will stay right in the Shelbyville office, offering his decades of knowledge and familiar smile to the community he loves. Joining him for a well-earned part-time shift is Al Bellenfant, another long-serving banker who will continue to assist local customers and support the branch team.
Taking the reins as the new Bedford County President is Daryl O’Neal. Promoted from within, O’Neal brings deep local roots, a wealth of industry experience, and a fresh vision for the bank’s future in Shelbyville. “I am excited about the opportunity to build on First Commerce Bank’s commitment to our community while continuing to grow alongside the people and businesses who call this wonderful area home. Local relationships matter, and our customers deserve a bank that understands this community, makes decisions with their needs in mind, and is invested in its success. As we begin this new chapter, I look forward to strengthening those relationships, creating new ones, and making sure that First Commerce continues to be a strong community partner for many years to come,” said O’Neal.

“I couldn’t be more confident in Daryl stepping into this role,” said Rittenberry. “He understands this community, values relationships, and leads with integrity.” First Commerce Bank President and CEO Luke Buckley shared that same excitement, noting that O’Neal’s strong character and dedication to local service make him the perfect fit to lead the team forward.
For Bedford County residents, this transition brings the best of both worlds in fresh, forward-looking leadership paired with the steady guidance of trusted community faces. Founded on the values of hometown service and community growth, First Commerce Bank continues to build on those principles, demonstrating that true community banking is always about the people.
