THE FABULOUS Fifties Show celebrated 39 years of entertainment this March, once again bringing together singers and performers for an exciting production that combines theatrical pizazz with classics of the past. This year’s theme invited audiences to take a trip to “Camp Dunroamin,” bringing back youthful memories of summer camp.

The 70-member, volunteer cast dazzled patrons with a variety of hilarious and talented acts. There were dancing grapes, chickens of every variety, a Voodoo Queen, a sheriff and his deputies, as well as singers and musicians performing everything from Motown and jazz to bluegrass and rock ‘n’ roll. Elvis, The Blues Brothers, The Beach Boys, Loretta Lynn with Conway Twitty, and the Dave Clark Five were just a few of the spectacular impersonator acts represented. The ornate costumes, classic hits, and tongue-in-cheek comedy sketches brought an infectious energy and joy to the room.

The event featured nine shows, with nearly 700 seats filled at each. Mary Jane Porter, who has been an integral part of the show for 33 years, said it is an event not to be missed.
“People will always say that our $20 [per ticket] show is the cheapest, best entertainment that goes towards such a good cause,” Porter said.

The Fabulous Fifties Foundation, founded in 2020, has helped local families and students throughout Lincoln County, particularly those facing medical emergencies or unexpected crises. The show keeps all proceeds local and exemplifies the importance and beauty of community taking care of community in the most captivating, fun-filled way.
