Have you ever felt so hungry you could eat a horse? The growling and gurgling of your stomach begs you to fill it with something substantial. You’re angry and irritable because you know a mere sandwich won’t quench the hunger that consumes you. After an early morning and hours of hard work, you may be hankering for a whole farm of food. That’s how I felt when I stepped foot into Edz Wings.
I came into the restaurant ready to start war on their menu, and Edz Wings was more than equipped for the battle. After a quick study of the menu, I found a burger that promised everything that could possibly annihilate this hunger. The Barnyard Burger is breakfast, lunch, and dinner in one. Accompanied by an order of jalapeno hush puppies and baked potato salad, this meal would fill me for hours.
The Barnyard Burger arrived at my table tall and proud. Between the buns layered onions; pickles; a ⅓ lb. juicy, beef patty; melty American cheese; a large, crispy, fried chicken finger; a fried egg; more melted cheese; three slices of crispy bacon; topped with fresh, cold, and crisp iceberg lettuce; and a juicy slice of tomato. My jaw dropped at the sight.
The burger is so tall, you have to smash it down and almost unhinge your jaw to take a bite; a challenge I was up for. This burger, as with all good burgers, was a rich mixture of texture and flavors. The cheese-covered charred beef patty explodes with savory juices. The crispy, deep-fried chicken finger is both crunchy and tender. The salty, crisp bacon compliments the gooey yolk of the fried egg. The tartness of the pickles, sweetness of the ripe tomato, and lightness of the lettuce brings balance to the protein-heavy bite. The Barnyard Burger left me happy and beyond full.
Edz Wings is the place to go to fill an empty stomach. They offer a variety of meals including sauced or dry rub jumbo wings, chicken fingers, burgers, and salads. Everthing is made to order so you know it’s fresh. I was very impressed by this restaurant, and I can’t wait to grab another bite! GN
