Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, FPU employees wear pink to show their support for those affected by breast cancer. Outside employees trade their white hard hats for pink ones as they work throughout the community, while inside employees show their support with pink attire and special lapel pins.
The simple symbols of the month serve as reminders of something much bigger: honoring breast cancer survivors, remembering those who have lost their lives to the disease, and recognizing the importance of awareness, regular screenings, and early detection.

“Breast cancer has touched the lives of countless families, and October gives us an opportunity to show our support and remind our community of the importance of early detection,” said FPU CEO/General Manager Britt Dye. “When our employees wear pink, we hope it sparks conversations, encourages screenings, and lets those facing breast cancer know they are not alone.”
For FPU employees, wearing pink is a small way to show support for the community they serve every day. FPU encourages everyone to join in, whether by supporting a loved one, participating in a local fundraiser, or simply helping keep the conversation going.
Sometimes, a little pink can say a lot.
