Finding a steady job right after graduation can feel like a tall task, but nursing students at Motlow State Community College are making it look easy. Hospitals and clinics constantly need skilled hands and caring hearts. Motlow State continues to step up to fill that gap. The college’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program boasts an impressive job placement rate of 95-100% for its graduates.
That success does not happen by accident. Motlow offers multiple clear pathways to earn a degree, catering to different life stages. Whether a student enters the traditional two-year program or opts for quick transition paths like Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Registered Nurse (RN) or Paramedic to RN, the curriculum is built around real-world needs.

Motlow Nursing students engage in a rigorous curriculum designed to prepare them for professional nursing practice. Coursework includes Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Maternal-Newborn, Pediatric, Mental Health Nursing, and Professional Practice in Nursing, with an emphasis on clinical judgment, patient safety, and evidence-based care. Through diverse clinical experiences across Middle Tennessee, students work directly with healthcare teams, caring for patients in hospitals, community agencies, and long-term care settings. These real-world experiences help students bridge classroom learning with the skills needed to become compassionate, competent registered nurses.
Guided by experienced faculty, students build the confidence and knowledge required to sit for the national licensing exam, the NCLEX-RN. Because area healthcare providers hold the institution in such high regard, graduates often secure job offers long before they walk across the stage at graduation.
For local communities within Motlow’s 11-county service area, these high job placement numbers mean dedicated, highly trained nurses are entering local workforce teams every single semester, strengthening patient care right where it matters most.
