With the state and federal general elections set for Tuesday, Nov. 3, local election officials are working hard behind the scenes to ensure every voice in the community is heard.
The Lincoln County Election Commission is here to serve as a helpful, steady guide through every step of the process. For residents, staying on top of key deadlines is the best way to make voting stress-free.
Anyone who plans to cast a ballot must be registered by Monday, Oct. 5. If you are already registered, take a moment to double-check that your address and personal details are up to date to avoid any surprises on Election Day.

For community members who prefer to skip the long lines, early voting is a wonderfully convenient option. Early voting runs from Wednesday, Oct. 14, through Thursday, Oct. 29. Any registered voter in Lincoln County can drop in and vote early without needing a special reason or excuse. If you need to vote by absentee mail ballot, written requests must be received by the election office by Saturday, Oct. 24.
On Election Day, polls across Tennessee will be open, and every voter must show a valid photo ID issued by the state of Tennessee or the federal government. The Lincoln County Election Commission encourages all neighbors to prepare early, review sample ballots online, and map out a simple plan to make voting as easy as possible.
